U.S. Oil Worker Among Eight Freed by Captors

Militants have released eight foreign oil rig workers, who looked tired but unharmed after two days in captivity.
Police involved in negotiations would not say whether a ransom had been paid for the release of the six Britons, one American and one Canadian.
The workers were kidnapped Friday from an offshore platform 40 miles from Nigeria’s southeastern coast by a group of unidentified militants demanding jobs and money. The Movement for Emancipation of the Niger Delta, a militant group that has attacked oil facilities in the region, denied any role.
