Meat Clerk Suspected of Embezzling Millions

A meat company clerk has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling at least $1.8 million to finance a life of luxury cars and trips to Las Vegas, the Kings County sheriff’s office said.
Robert Arnett, 48, of Clovis allegedly took the money in the last year -- and up to $4 million in earlier years -- from the Central Valley Meat Co. by intercepting checks and depositing them in his bank account.
Arnett used the money to buy a BMW and a Mercedes-Benz, traveled frequently to Las Vegas and bought more than 100 pairs of shoes, said Sgt. Rick Bradford.
He is being held in Kings County Jail on $2-million bail.
