A fire sparked by a car wreck Saturday charred about 25 acres and led to the closure of part of Angeles Crest Highway.
About 240 firefighters aided by helicopters and aircraft battled the blaze in Dark Canyon.
By 9:30 p.m., the fire had been 80% contained, and fire officials expected full containment by early today.
The fire started after a car drove off the Angeles Crest Highway about 2:15 a.m., said U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Dee Dechert. No one was hurt in the crash.
