Levi Strauss Sales Fall Up to 8% in First Quarter

Levi Strauss & Co. said first-quarter sales probably declined as much as 8% because of shrinking demand in Europe and U.S. retailers trimming inventory.
Operating income in the quarter ended Feb. 26 dropped by as much as 15%, the San Francisco-based company said.
