Three Hurt When SUV and Police Car Collide

Two police officers and the suspected drunk driver of an SUV were seriously injured in a traffic collision early Sunday.
The SUV may have been making an illegal U-turn at about 1 a.m. when it collided with the officers’ police car at 60th Street and Avalon Boulevard in South Los Angeles, said Police Officer Sandra Escalante.
All three of the injured were hospitalized, and their identities were not released. The officers underwent surgery and were in serious condition, she said.
