Greek, Turkish F-16s Collide Over Aegean

Warplanes from Greece and Turkey collided over the Aegean Sea as they shadowed each other in disputed airspace, and officials said the Turkish pilot was rescued unhurt.
There were conflicting reports on the fate of the Greek pilot. The F-16 fighter jets collided over international waters near the Greek island of Karpathos after two Greek jets intercepted two from Turkey, military officials from both countries said.
Greek officials said the Turkish planes were escorting a photo-reconnaissance plane.
The nations’ fighter jets frequently intercept each other. Both nations said the crash would not escalate tensions.
