Ventura County sheriff’s deputies were searching Wednesday for a man who held up a Thousand Oaks bank.
The robber entered the Washington Mutual Bank branch in the 100 block of Hillcrest Drive about 10:45 a.m. and handed a note to a teller, saying he had a gun and demanding money, authorities said. No weapon was seen, however.
The man then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, possibly fleeing in a white Honda, authorities said. He was described as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds, and wearing dark sunglasses.
Anyone with information is asked to contact sheriff’s detectives at (805) 494-8201 or the FBI’s 24-hour tip line at (310) 477-6565.
