Cheaper stays in pretty Pescadero
REGARDING the Pescadero piece “A Beacon for Fans of Small-Town Life” [Western Travel, Aug. 20], I don’t see that spending more than $100 more for a room with a couple of antiques is a better deal than what the HI-Pigeon Point Hostel offers: $65 versus $165 for eight hours of sleep?
I don’t mind sharing bathrooms to save $100. Last time I stayed at Pigeon Point Hostel, I washed dishes as my chore (no longer obligatory). The window above the sink looks out to the surf breaking below; I could have washed dishes all day.
