Washington 7, at Arizona 6: Jesus Flores hit a tying home run in the ninth inning, Felipe Lopez drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly and the Nationals rallied from a five-run deficit to beat the Diamondbacks for the first time in seven games between the clubs this year.
at Houston 6, Milwaukee 4: Craig Biggio homered after he was honored by the Astros for reaching 3,000 hits earlier this season, and Lance Berkman hit a tiebreaking home run leading off the eighth inning to start a four-run rally.
at New York 10, Florida 4: Moises Alou homered twice and drove in four runs to help the Mets avoid a three-game sweep. Hanley Ramirez homered for the Marlins, who had won three games in a row.
at Colorado 6, Chicago 3: Troy Tulowitzki hit a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning against Kerry Wood (0-1), who hadn’t given up a run in three relief appearances since coming off the disabled list Aug. 3.
Pittsburgh 5, San Francisco 0: Tom Gorzelanny (11-6) gave up five hits in his first career shutout, Josh Phelps hit a two-run home run and a two-run triple, and the Pirates finished off their first road sweep since early April.
at Philadelphia 5, Atlanta 3: Ryan Howard hit a three-run homer to back another solid outing by Jamie Moyer (11-8), who won his fourth consecutive decision and benefited from a five-run fifth-inning outburst.
San Diego 10, at Cincinnati 4: Brian Giles hit two home runs for the second consecutive day and Jake Peavy (13-5) improved to 5-0 in eight career starts against the Reds.
at St. Louis 12, Dodgers 2: Anthony Reyes (2-11) got his first career hit and run batted in during a five-run third inning, and Ryan Ludwick homered and drove in four runs.
