Report expected on puppy’s demise

The results of an investigation into the death of a 10-month-old puppy at a county animal shelter are expected to be presented next month to the county Board of Supervisors.
Animal activists say the puppy died during a cold night Dec. 5 at the county Department of Animal Care & Control’s Carson-area shelter in Gardena after employees failed to provide it with a blanket.
E-mails and phone calls soon flooded county offices demanding an investigation.
