Curtis Joseph made 29 saves in his second straight shutout to lead the Phoenix Coyotes to a 2-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night at Raleigh, N.C. It was their season-best fourth consecutive victory.
Washington 5, Montreal 1 -- Dainius Zubrus and Alexander Semin each scored twice at Washington to help the Capitals end a five-game losing streak.
Toronto 10, Boston 2 -- Thomas Steen had a hat trick to lead the Maple Leafs at Boston.
New York Rangers 3, Philadelphia 2 -- Martin Straka scored for the Rangers in each period at New York.
New Jersey 4, New York Islanders 3 -- Martin Brodeur made 40 saves to lead the Devils at East Rutherford, N.J.
St. Louis 2, Chicago 0 -- Lee Stempniak and Dennis Wideman scored power-play goals at St. Louis.
Tampa Bay 3, Minnesota 2 -- The loss ended the Wild’s eight-game home winning streak.
Dallas 6, Edmonton 5 -- Sergei Zubov and Jussi Jokinen scored in a shootout to give the Stars the win at Edmonton.
Calgary 5, Florida 4 -- Mark Giordano scored 4:30 into overtime at Calgary.
San Jose 9, Detroit 4 -- The Sharks rallied from a three-goal deficit at San Jose.
