Fire damages Century City office tower

More than 100 firefighters responded to a blaze that was contained to the 26th floor of a Century City high-rise Saturday. No one was injured, and the extent of damage was unclear late Saturday, according to Brian Humphrey, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Humphrey said the first call came in at 1:34 p.m. from 2029 Century Park East, one of two triangular office towers known for their aluminum exteriors.
Although sprinklers in the building worked, it took 34 minutes to put out the fire. Several people working in the building were safely evacuated.
“The greatest concerns we have are from residual water,” Humphrey said. The 26th and three floors beneath it were flooded by sprinklers and firefighting work.
