Florida students win underwater vehicle prize

The University of Florida team Sunday was declared the winner of the 10th annual Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Student Competition, sponsored by the Navy and the unmanned vehicle industry. It was the third straight victory for the team; first place prize is $8,000.
Second place ($4,000) went to the University of Rhode Island; third ($3,000) to Ecole de Technologie Superieure of Canada; fourth ($2,000) to Cornell; and fifth ($1,000) to the University of Central Florida.
