15-year-old boy, shot in drive-by last week, dies

A 15-year-old South Los Angeles boy, shot last week by suspected gang members and placed on life support for two days, has died.
Los Angeles police said Monday that the youth, Danny Saavedra, was the victim of a drive-by shooting and died Saturday.
He was struck in the head by gunfire at 8:25 p.m. Thursday while playing basketball in the 500 block of West 82nd Street.
Police say two juveniles who are thought to be gang members have been arrested in connection with the killing.
