Irvine man held in death of Mission Viejo resident

Orange County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday arrested an Irvine man in the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old bar patron from Mission Viejo during an early-morning fight.
Jean Pierre Castellanos, 23, is accused of stabbing Timothy Jones at Big Shots Billiards Bar & Grill on El Toro Road. Jones, stabbed twice in the chest and once in the head as he walked in with his girlfriend about 1 a.m., died at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
When deputies arrived they found Castellanos sitting in his car, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
