* No. 4 Ohio State 23, at No. 23 Purdue 7: Todd Boeckman passed for 200 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Buckeyes (6-0, 3-0) over the Boilermakers (5-1, 1-1) at West Lafayette, Ind. Purdue had been averaged 45 points and 496 yards in offense, but Ohio State held the Boilermakers to 272 total yards.
* Northwestern 48, at Michigan State 41 (OT): C.J. Bacher threw for a school-record 520 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, and the Wildcats (3-3, 1-2) scored a wild win over the Spartans (4-2, 0-2) at East Lansing. Bacher connected with Omar Conteh on a 12-yard touchdown strike in overtime, and Northwestern forced Michigan State’s Brian Hoyer into four incompletions in a row.
* at Penn State 27, Iowa 7: Anthony Morelli threw for 233 yards and a touchdown, Rodney Kinlaw ran for a career-high 168 yards and two scores and the defense was key in leading the Nittany Lions (4-2, 1-2) over the Hawkeyes (2-4, 0-3) at State College.
* at Indiana 40, Minnesota 20: Bryan Payton rushed for a career-high 90 yards and three touchdowns, and Austin Starr tied a single-game school record with four field goals to help the Hoosiers (5-1, 2-1) beat the Golden Gophers (1-5, 0-3) at Bloomington. Payton entered the game with 149 career yards rushing but had to fill in because of injuries.
* at Michigan 33, Eastern Michigan 22: Mike Hart ran for 215 yards to become Michigan’s career rushing leader, and matched a career high with three touchdowns to lead the Wolverines (4-2) over the Eagles (2-4) at Ann Arbor. Hart needed 33 yards to break Anthony Thomas’ record of 4,472 yards rushing.
