DWP may start program to reduce wasted water

The temporary head of the Department of Water and Power said Tuesday that his agency may resurrect the city’s “drought busters” program, which sends staffers into neighborhoods to discourage wasteful water practices.
DWP acting General Manager Robert Rozanski said the utility will know by February whether it needs to follow Long Beach and pursue a mandatory conservation program.
