“Avenue Q”: Performed by a mixed cast of good-natured humans and extremely expressive puppets, this Tony-winning musical applies the “Sesame Street” formula to the angst-provoking concerns of twentysomethings. The upshot: two hours of bawdy, mischievous fun. The sexual antics, it should be noted, are pitched to a mature audience. Leave the kids at home so you can laugh without guilt and enjoy the marvelous expressivity of these puppets, which were conceived and designed by Rick Lyon, whose indebtedness to Jim Henson is apparent even in the racier bits.

Ends Sunday at the Ahmanson Theatre, 135 N. Grand Ave., L.A. (213) 628-2772.
