From Times Wire Reports
An informant who helped Colombia stage one of its most successful attacks on a rebel camp and kill a top leader will receive the country’s largest-ever reward, $2.7 million.
The Defense Ministry did not identify the informer. He is living under state protection with his family and will leave the country to start a new life.
The informer helped the Colombian military with a March 1 raid on a rebel camp across the border in Ecuador that killed guerrilla commander Raul Reyes.
