Gemstar settles Digeo patent suit
Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc., the provider of interactive program listings that is being acquired by Macrovision Corp., settled a patent-infringement lawsuit against Digeo Inc.
Digeo will take a patent license from Los Angeles-based Gemstar to cover program guides under a multiyear agreement, the companies said. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Gemstar’s lawsuit also named Charter Communications Inc., a cable provider controlled by Allen that uses Digeo’s Moxi program guide. That claim was also settled by the agreement.
