RE “That Revolutionary Zeal,” Aug. 11: David Ng’s critique of “Les Miserables” at the Hollywood Bowl (“strenuous belting and big, hammy acting. . . . all the subtlety of a bayonet to the stomach”) had more to do with his unfortunate seating arrangements than anything else.
Too bad he couldn’t have joined the bench-seated proletarians; the performance we heard in Section G was pure magic.
Indeed, speaking as a 25-year veteran of summer sojourns to the Bowl, Sunday’s “Les Miz” was one of their best.
