Yard sale like no other

In WHAT had been a parking lot for a Monterey-style bungalow court in West Hollywood, four showrooms have established an alfresco design destination they have dubbed the Almont Yard. “It’s a group-effort place for us to entertain filled with good old junk,” says antiquarian Nathan Turner. “That’s junk as in j-u-n-q-u-e,” adds Joe Lucas, who opened the latest addition, Harbinger, this month with partner Parrish Chilcoat, above. Their one-room atelier sells unique pieces, decorative pillows and their own furniture designs, and it joins Turner, Claremont Furnishing Fabrics and interior designer Peter Dunham’s Hollywood at Home. For more pictures of Harbinger’s offerings as well as the Almont Yard’s shared outdoor shopping space, look for “The Scout” online at latimes.com/home. 636-A N.
