Gilroy plane crash kills 1

At least one person was confirmed dead in a small plane crash off U.S. 101 in Gilroy.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said a single-engine Socata Rallye, a French-made airplane, crashed into a California Highway Patrol truck weigh station about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials didn’t know if anyone besides the pilot was on board.
No one was inside the CHP building because they were on a training exercise, authorities said.
