What has been your favorite film so far this year?

“As soon as it became apparent [that the Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett characters in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”] were in sync, they were going to hook up, I started getting verklempt. . . . I found the last 30 minutes unbearably sad, just excruciating -- in a good way. It really just gives you a sense that they’re not going to have much time together, and I thought the evocation of that sensation -- ‘This is the best thing that ever happened to me and I know it’s not going to last’ -- I just thought it was a really great and very intense expression of that feeling. I found it very emotional.”
