They’re old, no bones about it

If you liked “Jurassic Park,” an auction to be held at Christie’s International, Paris, is for you. The star of the April 16 sale is the skeleton of a Triceratops, the first specimen of this quality to appear at public sale since Tyrannosaurus Rex “Sue” sold for a record $8.4 million in 1997. Other offerings: the shin bone of a Brachiosaurus, the cranium of a saber-toothed tiger and the egg of a giant Aepyornis.
This is the second sale that Christie’s France has dedicated to natural history. The first raised more than 1 million euros and concern among paleontologists who said that some of the objects would no longer be available for science.
