Driver dies in crash with Pacific Surfliner

A Pacific Surfliner train and a car collided at a Ventura railroad crossing, killing the vehicle’s driver and disrupting train service on a busy day for holiday travel. Amtrak spokeswoman Karina Romero said the crash occurred Thursday afternoon when the driver pulled onto the tracks.
Romero said no one on the train was injured, but two southbound trains were delayed.
The Surfliner travels along the coast between San Luis Obispo and San Diego.
