N. Korea nuclear talks resume

Negotiators at talks in Beijing on North Korea’s nuclear disarmament began to hash out details of what could be a months-long effort to verify its declaration of its atomic materials, the U.S. envoy said.
The latest round of six-nation talks, the first in nine months, comes after North Korea handed over the much-delayed list late last month, then blew up a cooling tower for its main nuclear reactor to demonstrate its commitment.
“It was a good start to the process, but I think the effort to negotiate a verification protocol will be very important,” Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill said. He has said the verification process could take several months.
