Poverty simulation -- An article in Thursday’s California section about a poverty simulation, in which volunteers played the roles of low-income individuals, misattributed a quotation to Lisa Adler, a member of the Bus Riders Union. It was another participant who said, “I wanted to punch out the banker. Each week we were sinking a little. We were so desperate.” What Adler said -- which was not in the article -- was: “Transportation is a huge issue. A lot of people couldn’t get to the grocery to get food.”
