Pittsburgh 7, at St. Louis 4: The Pirates’ Freddy Sanchez went four for five for his third straight multihit game to open the year.

Chicago 11, at Houston 6: Aramis Ramirez and Mike Fontenot homered and drove in four runs for the Cubs.
