Leading contributors: Kelsey Harris scored 16 points, Kendall Rodriguez had 15 and Justine Hartman had 13 for the host Brea girls. Layshia Clarendon scored 25 points and Darshae Burnside had 15 for Cajon.
The scoop: Brea went on a 12-2 run starting at the end of the third quarter to break a 30-30 tie and catapult the Ladycats to the nonleague victory.
Why it matters: Brea’s victory over the previously undefeated Cowgirls should boost the Ladycats’ confidence heading into the playoffs.
