First we had Kurt Streeter writing about the Gaza situation. Now we have Bill Dwyre’s sardonic aside in Friday’s tennis column about foreign banks. He writes, “We gotta feel sorry for these guys . . . because they can’t put their hands into our tax-paying pockets like our banks.” Bill, please read the (shrinking) front part of the paper where you’ll see that’s exactly what AIG did with our taxpayer money: that is pay off German, French and other foreign banks over the crummy and crooked deals they made with those entities.
This isn’t like messing up an AB in a box score; this is real life. And when you guys venture into it, responsible journalism demands that you get it right.
