Buddy Guy was the big winner at the Blues Awards announced in Memphis, Tenn., on Thursday, picking up one as contemporary blues male artist of the year and two for his album “Skin Deep.”
Janiva Magness was named contemporary blues female artist of the year, and Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials were selected band of the year in the awards presented by the Blues Foundation.
B.B. King and Koko Taylor were honored as the traditional blues artists of the year. King’s “One Kind Favor” also won as traditional blues album of the year.
