Put events in perspective

Re “High school football player shot, killed,” May 26
I do not want to diminish in any way what Ramon Huerta, along with his wife and family, had to endure on the night he was swept up in a gang sweep.
What I don’t understand is how this warrants front-page news, while the killing of an accomplished young man, Dannie Farber Jr. -- albeit younger but in a similar benign situation -- is published on Page A8.
One survived; one did not. Can we please put things into perspective?
