Update: This is the first of a two-game trip and the only games in the next 11 that the Kings will play on the road. They’re 8-10-0 away from Staples Center and were 3-2 on their last trip. The Sharks have won four games in a row — their longest winning streak this season — and seven of their last 10 to move up in the standings after a bumpy start. In the Sharks’ last game before the Christmas break, Patrick Marleau ended a 10-game drought by scoring twice and Joe Thornton scored for the first time in nine games to lead them to a 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.
