For cheap summer travel, it’s Vegas, baby

The most and least expensive summer destinations in the U.S. both offer lots of sand, sun and palm trees.
Honolulu was ranked the most expensive summer destination on an annual ranking by the travel website TripAdvisor. Las Vegas was ranked as the cheapest vacation spot.
Los Angeles came in as the sixth most expensive, largely because hotel prices have jumped nearly 30% in the last year.

The ranking was based on the total cost of a one night stay at a four-star hotel, drinks and dinner for two and a round-trip taxi ride.
For Vegas, the total tab for such a trip comes to $272.94, according to the TripAdvisor report. In Honolulu, the price tag comes to $504.94, the report said.
The one-night stay in Los Angeles would cost $447.61, cheaper than San Francisco at $471.89 but more expensive than San Diego at $399.45, the report said.
If you plan to travel abroad this summer, the cheapest international destination is Sofia, Bulgaria, where the cost of the one-night stay with dinner, drinks and transportation costs only $158.42, the report said.
The most expensive international destination is Oslo, Norway, where your tab will be $581.08.
