Ellen DeGeneres has done it again, this time unloading her 26-acre ranch in Thousand Oaks.
[Updated, 3:05 p.m. PDT Sept. 12: The sale price was $10.85 million, the L.A. Times has confirmed. That’s $5.65 million less than the original asking price.]
Here’s how it went down. Try to keep up:
DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, bought the rural property in 2009 for $8.5 million and offered it two years later at $16.5 million. The listing, detailing eight contemporary farmhouse-style cabins, two barns, a yoga pavilion, stables and tennis court, was canceled at a reduced price of $14.9 million.
This spring, Elle Decor featured the spread, which includes eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and a partial bath.
Then DeGeneres and De Rossi bought a 13-acre estate in Santa Barbara County’s Toro Canyon area for $26.5 million.

At the end of July, they returned the Thousand Oaks ranch to the market at $10.995 million. A week later, they included the furnishings and upped the price up to $12.995 million. Sold! But not for $12.995 million.
All that awaits is for the sales price to appear in the Multiple Listing Service or public record.
So what kinds of furnishings did the $2-million price bump buy? Check it out in this video by Interior Pixels.
Patrick Martin of Sotheby’s International Realty’s Sunset Boulevard office and Suzanne Perkins of the Santa Barbara office were the listing agents for the Thousand Oaks property.
