Historic home built by Rose Bowl architect Myron Hunt lists in Los Feliz

In the hills of Los Feliz, a stately home designed by famed architect Myron Hunt is up for grabs at $2.495 million.

Hunt, whose other works include the Rose Bowl and Huntington Art Gallery, built the two-story residence in 1931. Past a flagstone walkway, it opens to a 5,012-square-foot floor plan with four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Wood panels create elegant spaces throughout the interior, including the foyer, office/library and dramatic formal living room. The most expansive space in the home, it offers coffered ceilings, a fireplace and a wall of windows.

Upstairs, the master suite expands to a balcony with canyon and city light views. It’s one of multiple terraces on the second story.

Outdoors, the grassy grounds cover about a quarter of an acre.

After a series of projects in Illinois, Hunt moved in 1903 to L.A., where he worked on projects such as Occidental College, the Ambassador Hotel and the Mission Inn in Riverside.
