Former Microsoft VP shells out some green for a golf course estate in Palm Desert

Unsurprisingly, this former Microsoft exec’s new home has plenty of windows.

Scott Oki, the former vice president of sales and marketing for the tech giant, has paid $4.896 million for a contemporary estate in the Vintage Country Club community of Palm Desert.

The newly built home, which borders a golf course, is visually dramatic with modernist influences and an interior best described as minimalist. It has roughly 5,700 square feet of living spaces that includes a great room, a chef’s kitchen, a breakfast nook and a dining area with a wet bar.

Clerestory windows bring light into the living areas, and motorized walls of glass create indoor-outdoor space.

The one-story house wraps around a courtyard with an infinity pool and spa. In all, there are five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

Records show the home first listed for sale in January at $5.7 million.

Jamie, John & Carmen Wolfe Team handled both ends of the deal, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Oki, 69, made his mark with Microsoft by developing the tech giant’s international operations in the ‘80s. The exec is no stranger to golf courses; in 2016, he sold 10 courses in the Seattle area for $137 million.
