The median price for single-family homes in Greater L.A. continued to climb in August, increasing to $558,000, a 6.4% increase year over year, according to CoreLogic. Looking at current inventory, roughly that amount buys a house with a swimming pool in Glendora, a clipped-gable Craftsman in Highland Park and a midcentury fixer-upper in Woodland Hills.
