Hollywood headlines: A crazy week in review
Pop star Taylor Swift took home a bevy of awards at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday but the next day, a facial expression she made backstage eclipsed the accolades. The show’s backstage cam caught a glimpse of Swift sticking her tongue out when her friend Selena Gomez bumped into her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber at the show. The two warmly greeted each other and the queen of break-up songs seemed to grow increasingly irritated by the reunion. Time will tell if this reaction will manifest itself in another No. 1 single... Taylor Swift wins big at Billboard Music Awards, Brad Pitt talks family, Amanda Bynes is arrested, and a mini-”Friends” reunion are just a few of this week’s big celebrity stories.
Wonder Twin powers: Activate! It was a close race to the finish, but in the end, country singer Kellie Pickler and her pro partner Derek Hough pulled out a one-two punch to knock out the rest of the competition and emerged as the “Dancing With the Stars” Season 16 champions. The “American Idol” alum wanted to “end with a bang,” and that she did.

With “Arrested Development’s” highly anticipated return, the Netflix-revived series went all out this week promoting the show, even building a Bluth-style banana stand at Los Angeles’ The Grove. Star Jason Batemen, right, also revealed a rather uncomfortable moment with said stand during his appearance on on “Letterman.”
Of their own accord, Bateman and co-star Will Arnett decided to pay an impromptu visit to the stand in Times Square last week. It was, he explained, their way of saying thank you to the show’s obsessively devoted fans. But, Bateman and Arnett’s visit happened to coincide with a so-called never nude convention -- a gathering of fans wearing nothing but short, fitted denim cut-offs in the manner of “AR’s” Tobias Funke. After auctioning off a date with herself at a charity benefit in France and attending the “Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian)” premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Eva Longoria headed back to the U.S. to graduate. Yes, you read that right. The “Desperate Housewives” alum received her master’s degree in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, Longoria revealed quite a bit of herself with a very unfortunate wardrobe malfunction at the “Jimmy P.” premiere, but as far as sartorial snafus go, the spotlight wasn’t on her exposed parts for long. The actress was in good company this week with model Miranda Kerr, who accidentally exposed herself during a photo shoot, and singer Mariah Carey, who revealed a bit too much while performing on “Good Morning America.” (Vittorio Zunino Celotto / Getty Images)

Catherine Zeta-Jones has returned home after leaving a treatment facility where she was being treated for her bipolar II disorder. The actress was spotted driving to her New York City apartment Tuesday after dropping off her daughter at school, according several reports.
Zeta-Jones, 43, checked herself into the facility on April 29 and was set to be there for 30 days. She was there to undergo some healthy “maintenance,” according to her husband Michael Douglas, who said, “She’s got herself worked out with her meds and she’s raring to go!” (Carlo Allegri / Associated Press)
“The Voice” mentor and singer Blake Shelton announced this week that he was working with NBC to quickly organize a telethon in the wake of the powerful tornado that ripped through central Oklahoma on Monday.
Shelton’s benefit, “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert,” will air live from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on May 29 on NBC and other NBCUniversal networks on either a live or delayed basis. The country superstar has already tapped his wife, Miranda Lambert, and friends and fellow Oklahoma natives Reba McEntire and Vince Gill to perform. (Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times)
Amanda Bynes was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly tossed a bong out of her Manhattan apartment window, police said. She was formally charged with attempted evidence tampering, reckless endangerment and marijuana possession on Friday.
The “What I Like About You” star was reported to police after an employee at her apartment alleged that she was smoking marijuana in the building’s lobby, acting erratically and supposedly talking to herself, according to reports. An officer went to Bynes’ apartment then saw a bong -- a water pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana -- on her kitchen counter and when he asked her about it, the actress heaved it out of her window, according to the criminal complaint obtained by TMZ.
Bynes claimed that the alleged bong was “just a vase.” She was eventually released without bail after appearing for her arraignment in a New York court on Friday morning. Her next court date was set for July 9 and the judge said that if she didn’t appear a warrant would be put out for her arrest. (APTN / Associated Press)
