“Con Man,” the adorably meta comedy web series about one actor’s struggle to get off of the convention circuit, and into mainstream Hollywood is coming back for a second season. And here’s the first sneak peek of Season 2 starring Alan Tudyk with all “the wrong stuff.”
“Con Man” director, writer and star Tudyk describes the series as “Extras” meets San Diego Comic-Con and all the other conventions in between. The series is about main character Wray Nerely (Tudyk) and his many attempts to jolt his onscreen career to the next level.
Loosely based on the real-life stories from Tudyk and co-star Nathan Fillion (who plays the much more successful actor and best friend to Nerely, Jack Moore), “Con Man” is full of Hollywood in-jokes, genre gags and loads of celebrity cameos made up of today’s convention staples and Comic-Con royalty.
Tricia Helfer, known for her role as Six in “Battlestar Galactica,” appeared in Season 1 of “Con Man.” Joss Whedon had a cameo playing a lower-level crew man that Tudyk’s character abuses. And many crew members from “Serenity” showed up, including Gina Torres, Summer Glau, Sean Maher, and Jewel Staite.

The second season is already gearing up for more surprise guests and has already announced it will be reuniting Tudyk with “Dollhouse” cast mate Eliza Dushku.
The other big change to the new season of the short series is its location. The new season is launching exclusively on Comic-Con HQ, a new subscription video-on-demand service.
Look for the Season 2 debut in November.
