Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood will star in “Into the Forest,” a story of two sisters set in the not-too-distant future against the collapse of society. Jean Hegland’s novel will be adapted by writer-director Patricia Rozema.
Page will also be producing the film as well, her first time stepping into the behind-the-camera role. Kelly Bush Novak, founder and CEO of the publicity firm ID-PR, will also be a producer, along with Sirim Das.

Page, seen on-screen this year in the eco-terrorism paranoia thriller “The East” and the holistically tinged romantic comedy “Touchy Feely,” recently wrapped filming on “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Page is also set to star in the upcoming spy pic “Queen & Country.”
Wood will be seen in the upcoming “Charlie Countryman” with Shia LaBeouf and “A Case of You” with Justin Long.
Rozema is a veteran Canadian filmmaker, going back to her debut feature, 1987’s “I Heard the Mermaids Singing.” Having also directed the 1999 adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Mansfield Park,” Rozema more recently won an Emmy for co-writing the 2009 TV movie “Grey Gardens” starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange.
