Morrissey has revealed he recently underwent cancer treatments.
The singer and ex-Smiths frontman told a Spanish newspaper that he has received a series of treatments.
“They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already, but whatever,” Morrissey said in an interview with El Mundo.
“If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead,” he added.
Morrissey’s most recent album, “World Peace Is None of Your Business,” was released in July. Earlier this year, he canceled the remainder of his U.S. tour, citing a respiratory infection.
Last year, he battled a number of ailments. He was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer and was treated for double pneumonia six weeks later. He was later treated for food poisoning and forced to postpone a leg of his tour.
The singer started his latest European tour in Lisbon on Monday.
