The Muppets This new series returns Jim Henson’s family of creations to weekly television. 8 p.m. ABC
Scream Queens This new horror-comedy series from the creators of “Glee” is set at a college sorority where a murder doesn’t dissuade pledges from wanting in. With Jamie Lee Curtis. 8 p.m. Fox
Gorongosa Park — Rebirth of Paradise In the premiere of this documentary mini-series cinematographer Bob Poole joins scientist Paola Bouley to determine why the number of lions in an African wildlife sanctuary is remaining stagnant and then studies elephants in the park. 8 p.m. KOCE and PBS
Fresh Off the Boat The comedy revolving around an immigrant family returns for its second season. Rob Riggle and Paul Scheer guest star. 8:30 p.m. ABC
NCIS: New Orleans An attack on a military convoy puts Pride (Scott Bakula) and his colleagues on the trail of a stolen missile — intended to be used against a Navy vessel — in the second-season premiere. 9 p.m. CBS
Dancing With the Stars The couples dance to songs that represent the professional dancers’ hometowns in this new episode. 9 p.m. ABC
Limitless Jake McDorman stars as a man whose brainpower gets a big boost from a revolutionary drug, making him valuable to the FBI agents played by Jennifer Carpenter and Hill Harper in this new series based on the 2011 movie. 10 p.m. CBS
Drunk History In a new episode titled “Spies,” Octavia Spencer, Alia Shawkat and Will Ferrell act out stories of wartime espionage. 10:30 p.m. Comedy Central
