Hollywood facial-hair face-off hands out 14 awards, raises $1,000 for animal rescue

If things looked a little hairier than usual in Hollywood over the weekend, it could well have been thanks to the L.A. Facial Hair Society’s third annual Beard & Moustache Competition, which took place at the Avalon Hollywood on Saturday.
Sponsored by the Grave Before Shave brand of grooming products, this year’s facial-hair face-off drew 140 competitors in 13 categories (including two inclusive faux-follicular categories -- one for kids and a “whiskerinas” category for women) in pursuit of hirsute glory, with one competitor taking home the additional title of best in show.
Since a scheduling conflict prevented us from covering the conclave of ‘stache-thletes and beard-thusiasts in person, the organizers passed along the following list of official results along with word that this year’s event unspooled before a crowd of 700 spectators and raised just over $1,000 for its charitable partner, the Dawg Squad animal rescue.
Each category listed in descending order from first- to third-place winner.
