Happy-hour buzz: $6 fried chicken, burgers and Moscow Mules at Rascal
- Share via
Long week? Of course it was. That’s why we’re highlighting a happy hour every Friday. So cut out early, secure a designated driver and get your drink and happy-hour eats on.
If you live in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, chances are you’ve been to, walked by, heard about or eaten at Rascal, a neighborhood spot with happy-hour specials seven days a week.
If you’re stopping in Monday, happy hour is running 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Come in Tuesday to Saturday and you can get happy-hour prices 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday means it’s Sunday Funday, and you can order drinks at happy-hour prices and play board games from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Specials include a selection of $6 drinks and bites, including Moscow Mules, margaritas, red sangria, the cold duck (a sangria topped with a little Cava), a pint of North Cost Scrimshaw Pilsner and a glass of 2013 Solar de Estraunza or 2011 Garnacha Beso de Vino.
Instead of the classic sliders, Rascal is serving a full-sized burger topped with caramelized onions, cheddar, arugula, tomato and herb remoulade, along with a salad.
There’s fried chicken served with a side of Italian sausage gravy; spicy Italian sausage with red watercress, olive oil and olive tapenade; Brussels sprouts with smoked bacon, shallots, garlic and whole-grain mustard sauce; a fried chicken sandwich with cabbage and tzatziki; and a vegetable gyro sandwich made with a potato croquet, tabbouleh, curry hummus, tzatziki and queso resco.
