‘Jeffersons’ producer David Lee lists Dinah Shore Palm Springs estate at $5,995,000

The Palm Springs house of sitcom writer-director-producer David Lee has come on the market at $5,995,000 in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood.
The renovated 1963 tennis estate, designed by architect Donald Wexler for Dinah Shore, sits on 1.3 acres. The 7,000-square-foot Modernist showplace has six bedrooms and 7 1/2 bathrooms. There are floor-to-ceiling glass walls, wooden ceilings, a stone fireplace and a pristine swimming pool.
Lee, partnered with Peter Casey in writing and producing “The Jeffersons” for six years and “Cheers” for four. Along with David Angell, they created the Emmy-winning series “Frasier” (1993-2004). More recently he has turned to the theater, directing “South Pacific,” among other revivals, at the Hollywood Bowl.
He bought the property in 2002 for $3 million, according to public records.
