Gay teen’s killing: An article in the Nov. 22 LATExtra section about a teenager who fatally shot a gay classmate in Ventura County said that Brandon McInerney agreed to plead guilty to second-degree and voluntary manslaughter in the killing of his classmate, Larry King. It should have said that McInerney agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter. The word “murder” was omitted.
Dependency courts: An article in the Nov. 22 LATExtra section about a proposal to open dependency courts to the public described L.A. Youth as a newspaper published by foster youth. It is a newspaper published by a nonprofit organization featuring stories written by foster youths.
Dubuque railway: An article in the Nov. 6 Section A about the Fenelon Place Elevator, an incline railway in Dubuque, Iowa, credited an 1882 photo of the railway to the Center for Dubuque History. The photo should have been credited to the Loras College Center for Dubuque History.
