Crime reports were up significantly in the latest week in 11 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Six neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Gramercy Park (A) was the most unusual, recording nine reports compared with a weekly average of 2.9 over the last three months.
Fairfax (G) topped the list of five neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 21 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 13.5 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Aug. 15–Aug. 21, the most recent seven days for which data are available. This post was automatically created by an algorithm written by the authors.
