Police shot and wounded a man Friday afternoon outside a convenience store in Culver City after he pointed a shotgun at them, authorities said.
Culver City police responded to a call of a man armed with a shotgun outside a 7-Eleven in the 11000 block of West Washington Boulevard about 2:30 p.m., according to police and sheriff’s officials.
When officers arrived, the man pointed a shotgun at them, and they opened fire, Culver City Police Department officials said.
The man was taken to a hospital. Authorities did not have information on his condition.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene to assist with the investigation, said Deputy Kim Manatt, who did not have details about what led to the shooting.
No law enforcement officers were injured, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
